Sonata 1 for Piano in 4 movements
Description
Piano Sonata 1 has four movements:
- Rhapsody impromptu “searching” has georgeous sweeping theme as teaser and final destination after searching for meaning.
- Scherzo is a study in 6ths, great palate cleanser after first movement. Can you identify the Wagnerian chord progression in the middle section?
- Nocturne: Song; Loneliness; Dance for Two. Intense heart-rending call for companionship, followed by an affirming Pas-de-deux.
- Four Bar Finale -Rejoicing. Arguably the happiest thing I’ve ever written! A great culmination to the arc of the Sonata, with a final version of sweeping theme from first movement.
